Why Beet Cancer Collective Has a Home at House of Bon Temps

Why Beet Cancer Collective Has a Home at House of Bon Temps

People ask me sometimes why a cancer-survivorship collection lives inside a luxury wellness brand. I understand the question. But for me, there was never really a separation.

Wellness. Heritage. Restoration. That's the foundation House of Bon Temps was built on, and it didn't come from a marketing meeting. It came from a hospital room.

The Season That Changed Everything

In 2020, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer. What followed was chemotherapy, a stem-cell transplant, remission, and the maintenance treatment that continues to be part of my life today. It was faith that carried me through the hardest parts. It was my family that held me up. And it was that season, more than any other, that taught me what caring for myself actually means.

We believe taking care of yourself means caring for the inside and the outside, from head to toe.

Inside care looks like nutrition, hydration, movement, rest, faith, emotional wellness, organization, and walking into a doctor's appointment with your questions already written down. Outside care looks like the everyday rituals that help you feel like yourself again: intentional skin care, hair and beard care, comfort, and the small self-care moments House of Bon Temps was built to support.

I want to be clear about something important: no House of Bon Temps product prevents, treats, manages, or cures cancer. Wellness products are not a substitute for medical treatment. What they can do is support you in feeling like yourself while you're doing the harder work of healing.

Where Beet Cancer Collective Fits

Beet Cancer Collective is the cancer-survivorship and restoration initiative inside the larger House of Bon Temps wellness mission. It exists to support patients, survivors, caregivers, and families through encouragement, survivor-led resources, meaningful merchandise, and the Beet Cancer Courage Planner. Every piece carries the same heartbeat: Faith. Healing. Hope.

This September, for Blood Cancer Awareness Month, we're refreshing the collection with a message close to my own story: Covered. Courageous. Still Here. Because that's what survivorship feels like, most days. Covered by faith and by the people who show up for you. Courageous, even on the days you don't feel it. And still here, which is its own kind of victory.

None of this happened because I set out to build a merchandise line. It happened because I lived through something that changed how I saw wellness, and I wanted other people walking through it, patients, survivors, caregivers, and the families standing beside them, to feel less alone in it. We want to help ordinary people prepare for extraordinary moments.

Read, Shop, and Prepare

If you or someone you love is in a season like the one I walked through, I hope you'll look at the Beet Cancer Collective as more than merchandise. Explore the refreshed collection, and take a look at the Beet Cancer Courage Planner, built to help you organize the questions, records, and reflections that come with a diagnosis.
